CARE

Linen is indeed a remarkable natural fiber known for its strength, durability, and unique properties. Proper care is essential to maintain the quality of linen garments and ensure they last for years. The guidelines provided offer valuable tips for washing, drying, and ironing linen pieces:

Washing Temperature:

To prevent shrinkage, it's recommended to wash linen at a temperature of 40°C / 100°F. This moderate temperature helps keep the fabric intact. Higher temperatures may cause shrinkage of up to 10% and weaken the linen fibre.

Detergent Choice:

Harsh powder detergents can damage linen fibers. It's the best to use a mild detergent that is gentle on the fabric. Additionally, oxygen-based bleach can be used on white linen items to maintain their brightness without causing damage. Please do not overload washing machine and use gentle machine cycle.

Drying Methods:

It's crucial to remove the linen items while they are still damp to prevent over-drying, which can lead to stiffness and wrinkles. Please tumble dry on the lower temperature. Do not overload the dryer.

Ironing:

Linen can be ironed for a crisp, neat appearance. However, the natural wrinkled look of linen is also charming and widely embraced. If you prefer a smooth finish, iron the linen items inside out while they are still slightly damp. This prevents excessive creasing and makes the ironing process more manageable.

By following these care instructions, individuals can maintain the longevity and beauty of their linen garments, ensuring they remain in excellent condition for years to come. More information could be found here https://thelinenvalley.com/care
