Are these fitted slipcovers or loose covers?
Loose covers. Each one is a single rectangular piece of linen that drapes over the whole sofa, arms included, and tucks in around the seat. How do I choose the right size for my sofa?
Measure your sofa at its widest, deepest and tallest points, going over the arms and from the floor to the top of the back. The cover should be about 24″ (60 cm) larger than the width plus twice the height, and about 12″ (30 cm) larger than the depth plus twice the height. Which fabric weight should I choose?
Midweight 205 g/m² is the lightest. It falls in softer folds and is woven wide enough to be made without connecting seams. Heavyweight 260 g/m² gives the furniture more protection and shows the texture of the weave more clearly. Extra heavyweight 450 g/m² is the thickest, with a rugged, denim-like texture; it is densely woven and scratch-resistant, which makes it a sensible choice if you have cats or dogs.
Is the cover 100% linen?
Yes. Every cover is made from 100% softened European linen, with no cotton or synthetic blend. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® certified, and each cover is cut and sewn by hand in Lithuania.
How do I keep a loose cover in place?

How do I wash a linen couch cover?
Machine wash on a gentle cycle at up to 40°C / 104°F with a mild detergent, and avoid bleach. Check first that the cover fits comfortably in your drum; if it does not, use a professional cleaner with experience of linen. Tumble dry on low and take it out while still slightly damp, or air dry out of direct sunlight. More in our Linen Care Guide.

Do you make cushion covers to match?
Yes, on request. Cushions vary from sofa to sofa, so we sew cushion covers to the sizes of your cushions. Email us at home@thelinenvalley.com with the measurements of each cushion and the colour you want, and we will agree the sizes with you before we start.
