Duvet Covers

A linen duvet cover is one of the most effective ways to change the atmosphere of your bedroom and give it a distinctive character. Natural linen is breathable and thermoregulating — keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter — making it an ideal choice for bedding used year-round. For added convenience, our duvet covers can be fastened with natural seashell buttons or tied with linen ties, a small decorative detail. All covers are handmade in Lithuania from 100% softened European linen, available in a wide range of colors and standard sizes.

Questions About Linen Duvet Covers

Which size should I choose?

The sizes in the list are the measurements of the finished duvet cover. Measure your duvet and choose the cover closest to it. Each size is named after the standard size of its region: US Twin to California King, plus UK, EU, Australian and Japanese sizes. If your duvet has different measurements, we can sew a cover to fit it.

How does the duvet cover close?

At the foot end, with natural shell buttons or with soft linen ties, depending on the model. The closure is named in the product title.

What weight is the linen?

All our duvet covers are made from 100% softened European linen in a midweight 205 g/m² weave. It drapes softly over the duvet and breathes, so it is comfortable in summer and winter. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® certified.

Can I get matching sheets and pillowcases?

Yes. Each colour has matching pillowcases and sheets in the same linen, and several colours also come as a bed set: a duvet cover with two pillowcases in the standard size of your region.

Will a linen duvet cover shrink?

Our linen is softened before the cover is cut and sewn, and washing is one of the softening steps, so most of the shrinkage happens before it reaches you. Slight shrinkage after the first home wash is still normal for linen. Wash at up to 40°C / 104°F and avoid high dryer heat.

How do I wash a linen duvet cover?

Fasten the buttons or ties and turn the cover inside out, then wash on a gentle cycle at up to 40°C / 104°F with a mild detergent. Tumble dry on low and take it out while still slightly damp, or hang it to dry. More in our Linen Care Guide.

Can you make a duvet cover in a custom size?

Yes. Email us at home@thelinenvalley.com with the width and length of your duvet, and we will confirm the price. Custom covers need 3–5 business days of production before dispatch.
