Sustainability

The Linen Valley is a small family business specializing in the design and sewing of natural linen home textiles. In everything we create, we pay a great attention to sustainability and durability, because it reflects how we live and what we believe in.

We firmly believe that sustainability starts with the individual — with family, friends, and the community around us. If you live mindfully, choose ecological food, value natural materials at your home, and try to stay close to nature, then natural linen is what you need. Our products are transparently and sustainably created, sewn, and delivered to your home with minimal negative impact on the environment. We know they will last and delight you for a long time — thanks both to the unique properties of linen and to the care and craftsmanship we put into every piece.

Exceptionally Sustainable Origin

Linen fabric is woven from the fibers of the flax plant — an annual crop and a renewable resource that grows even in poor-quality soil without chemical pesticides. Linen production uses the entire plant with virtually no waste, and the fabric is fully biodegradable and easily recycled, making flax one of the most sustainable plants in the World.

OEKO-TEX® Certified Fabric

Textile production is a complex process that involves printing, dyeing, and softening — each of which may require chemical treatments that can be harmful to both the environment and your health. That is why all the linen fabrics we use are certified to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, ensuring they contain no harmful substances or chemical compounds. You can feel confident in the safety of every product we make.

Local, Full-Cycle Production

All our linen products are produced entirely within Lithuania, European Union — from fabric weaving, dyeing, and softening to product design and sewing. Every step of the production cycle takes place within a local area, minimizing transportation and reducing our CO2 footprint. We also use no plastic packaging, believing that every small step toward reducing unnecessary plastic matters.

Our Priority is Zero Waste

As a small family business with direct control over our production processes, we can focus on what matters the most — minimizing waste. We reuse most of our linen textile remnants by sewing smaller products from them: fabric bags, bath slippers, and small bath and kitchen towels. Nothing goes to waste if we can help it.

An Active Community is the Foundation of a Sustainable Future

We believe that a truly sustainable future is built by engaged communities — people who care about ecological living, nurturing nature, and passing those values on to the next generation. Our company works with several local primary schools and gymnasiums, providing them with natural linen fabric scraps. Children are  guided by their teachers, sew handicrafts, Christmas decorations, and even clothing. This way, we contribute to creativity, the appreciation of handmade work, and a love of natural materials.

We are also proud of our collaboration with a local theatre — together we have created theatrical scenography elements and actors' costumes made entirely from our natural linen. A small contribution to culture, made with the same care we bring to everything we do.
